I am a beginner of ubuntu. When I want to install ubuntu 8.04.3 through wubi.exe, I find wubi.exe can't find the image file (ubuntu-8.04.3-alternate-i386.iso ). Then I noticed that the release data of wubi.exe is early than the data of iso image, so I think the wubi.exe doesn't support ubuntu 8.04.3, but the problem is I can't find the version of wubi.exe that supports ubuntu 8.04.3...
any one can help me? Please...

Hi, try putting the wubi.exe and the ubuntu-8.04.3 iso in the same folder and run the wubi.exe installer. This should use the iso you already have without downloading another one.

I have already put them in E:\, but it doesn't work, wubi.exe also trys to download the ubuntu 8.04.1.

Try discounting from the Internet before running the wubi.exe from the same folder as the iso.

Thank you, but it also doesn't work, wubi.exe always trying to connect to the Internet, and will break the install if can't connect to the Internet.

Thank you, I have solved the problem. I download the desktop edition of ubuntu 8.04.3, and extract wubi.exe from it. Even though it costs me a lot of time, but at least I can install ubuntu 8.04.3 by wubi.

just use 7-zip or other tools open the iso file, the you can see wubi.exe.
