how to bring Desktop back?

I try to install Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic koala alpha6 64 bit .
after i install program about system but i don't know what's happen after i restart and login again
at desktop not show in graphic mode it's show like in terminal .
i want to know what's wrong how i can fix this problem how i can use in graphic mode again ?
please guide me by step .:confused:

I don't think there is a step by step guide. It's alpha. Maybe you should try 9.04 Jaunty.

Are you certain you didn't install the server edition? That installs by default without a desktop environment.

Try the following:



sudo apt-get install ubuntu-desktop

no, it's a bug, you can't simply do it, it happens everytime, in my machine too

ok . i understand for development version .
i found bugs many things i hope at finished of Karmic koala it's better .
now i go to install old version it well.:)
