OK, I just managed to completely destroy my system...

I want to reinstall but now according to the "rules"... (my first install was on 1 partition - no separate /home).

Would the following be a good setup for a 300 GB HD?:

10GB for "/"
2GB for "/swap" (I have 3 GB ram)
remaining for "/home"

I've read some threads about having a separate /boot partition. Is this useful or better left alone for more advanced users?

thanx in advance for your recommendations?

perfect, like separating '/' and 'Home' because next time you screw the system you will still have your data safe

wise decision i would say. go for it

thanks,

so you wouldn't take a separate /boot partition?
