Hello,
I have a keyboard that has special keys like "Home" and "Close" and "Application Launch."
When I open the Keyboard Shortcuts preferences panel in Gnome I can select a function like "close window" or "launch calculator," and when I press one of those keys it's recognized and assigned to that function.
However, after I close the preferences panel and push the key nothing happens. For example, if I assign the "XF86Calculator" key to "launch Calculator," then I press the "Calculator" key on the keyboard the Calculator does not launch.
Likewise, assigning a button to "Desktop" --> "Close Window" does nothing.
I don't understand why the Keyboard Shortcuts panel will let me assign the button if it does nothing.
Can anyone explain or provide a fix?
Thanks,
