I say Pidgin because I think it's the most popular messenger client on Ubuntu (or is it?). Anyway...

Have you ever put up a status message like so: "leaving for work in 15 minutes", then an hour later, it still says "leaving for work in 15..."?

Is there a Pidgin plug-in that makes timed status messages possible?

To illustrate (with status message): "Going for a nap in 5 minutes, DND"
- After the post, a timer dynamically changes that '5' every minute until it reaches 0.
- possibly, it will change to a new status message if the user prepared such when timer reaches 0.
- not limited to minutes; could be in any time format and unit (hh:mm, ss, or dd)
- not limited to countdowns; could be a counter

Going back to the question, is there a Pidgin plug-in for timed status messages? If there isn't, what are your thoughts on this?

Also for people who might jump and say "Just set your idle time..."

some clients don't report idle time and AIM users can't see ICQ statuses properly.
