View Full Version : [ubuntu] Issue with vnc in 9.04 fresh install

I have a network where I initially installed 8.04 (Hardy) and configured vino-preferences with the ip address of the individual systems. The router I configured for port forwarding, giving a port in the 5900 to 5920 range. This worked and I could access individual systems from outside the office.

When I did an upgrade for some systems, this would still work, but the vino-preferences panel looks different and displays the ip address for these upgraded systems with a different ip address block. Still, it worked.

However, some newer systems, mostly 64bit systems, I had to install with new fresh installs. These systems display the correct ip addresses in the proper ip address block, but the port forwarding doesn't work for them.

Inside the network, I can get to the systems.

Does anyone have any idea why this jaunty exhibits this behavior and how I can fix it?

Thanks.
