Just activated a new unit that has XP home. Loaded Lenny and it asked the question about grub and MBR. Good dual boot.
Installed Ubuntu went through the entire installation, gave me the time to re boot message with no question on grub and MBR. So at reboot I am at error 18 please advise and thanks

Error 18 is when the BIOS cannot access as the OS has exceeded the cylinder limit. The limit depends on the vintage of your BIOS/computer. See above linked.

Before trying to create a boot partition, try to install within the limit first (see if installing within the first 137GB works)

Good luck. Back-up.
