do you think it's cheating? i.e by yourself not in a group and with no assistive devices

Nope. It is called using you brain, and trying to win. Casinos hate to lose, and call it "cheating".

nope. not cheating. Bridge and good euchre players do it all the time. in fact anyone who is half decent at bridge (certianly not me) should know almost exactly what every hand contains after the bidding.

That isn't counting though, strictly speaking. That is called knowing how to play bridge. If you know how to play bridge, and you know what the bids were and the contract is--you should be able to accurately deduce how the hand will go.

Counting is usually an activity in poker/blackjack games...where it is frowned on (by casinos).
