Running 9.04 Jaunty.
Opened up 3.10 OOo and noticed the arrow indicating there was an upgrade available so downloaded the OOo_3.1.1_LinuxIntel_install_en-US_deb.tar.gz file.
Installed using Gdebi package installer and it appeared everything worked fine.
However when I open it again (even after restarting), the package does not look to be installed. Duplicated the process and Gdebi says that I would be re-installing.
Not sure of procedure now (more used to Windows from work environment) but always like to keep up on the updates. Can someone advise what I need to do for future reference?
