hey guys,
i just installed 9.04 onto a usb drive using unetbootin. i read that in order to make any changes persistent, i need to download a casper-rw file and extract it into the root of the usb drive. then i need to edit the syslinux.cfg file to add the word 'persistent' on the line that starts with append and before the two dashes.
the problem is that its not persistent. everything disappears when i reboot. is there anything else that i needed to do? it is a 2GB usb stick
this is what my file looks like:
default vesamenu.c32
prompt 0
menu title UNetbootin
timeout 100
label unetbootindefault
menu label Default
kernel /ubnkern
append initrd=/ubninit file=/cdrom/preseed/ubuntu.seed boot=casper quiet splash persistent --
label ubnentry0
menu label ^Help
kernel /ubnkern
append initrd=/ubninit
label ubnentry1
menu label oem=OEM install (for manufacturers)
kernel /ubnkern
append initrd=/ubninit oem=oem-config/enable=true
