Is there any version of Symbian OS made for desktop pcs yet. If so please inform. And if not does Symbian have the potential to be created as a full fledged desktop operating system? Please share your knowledge about this if you can. Thanks:)

So you're saying that OS that has ruled the whole mobile world for years is a fail. When it comes to _telephones_ Symbian is the best OS there is. Period.
It may suck atm. when it comes to UI, it may suck atm. if you're trying to develop for it. But Symbian is nowhere near fail.

And you may want to look at Maemo. It is real GNU/Linux (unlike Android) in smartphone.

Symbian is not for desktop, it is very very very much optimized for phone usage (and that is why it still is able to run circles around these newcomers like Android etc. when it comes to certain things).

Why is that a bad thing for Android? I don't get it when that is used as an insult against Android. Android doesn't claim to "Linux" handset, so why are you bemoaning it for something it's not claiming to be?

Android runs on the Linux kernel and is fully open-sourced which is more than acceptable for me.
