I have a dell studio 1535 laptop running ubuntu 9.04. I have it connected to an external 19" monitor with the laptop lid closed (single monitor only). I am using the ATI proprietary FGLRX graphics driver.
the display is working, but it is in the incorrect resolution. the ATI Catalyst controle pannel will not let me enter my monitors resolution (1280x1024), the maximum the maximum resolution in the drop down box is 1280x800.
I have had a tinker with the /etc/X11/xorg.conf file but what I have tried so far has not seemed to work.
Does anyone have any advice or a solution?
