After years on frustration with XP I've decided to try Ubuntu on one of my systems. I've burned 2 images and they all have errors. I since been downloading multiple images and checking them with winMD5sum. The hash never matches. I've read there is some discussion that winMD5sum is not fool proof. I started trying to get 8.04 and have moved on to9.04. I'm down to my last few cds and just wanted to install Ubuntu this weekend.

Any ideas?

I would suggest downloading the iso using a torrent as you are able to force check the iso to make sure that it is not corrupted and if it is, the force check should download the missing pieces.

Thanks for the fast reply. I started the torrent download. Instead of down loading it checked and uploaded one of the 9.04 I already had. At the risk of turning another cd into a coaster I burned the image. Did a disk ckeck before install and everything was good. I'm typing from Firefox inside Ubuntu. Thanks
