Gnome startup problem

Hi All,

When I try to login to gnome session I am getting the following error.

/etc/gdm/Xsession: begining session setup
Alias loaded
.: 11:alias not found.

Please explain why this error is coming and is there any startup script to edit to fix the error.

I was trying to add an alias in the shell by adding the line ". .alias" in the .profile file , removing the line resolved the problem. :)
