In lieu of: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1270675

So I brought up a short list: http://coldreactive.deviantart.com/journal/27301672/

And I was surprised that I actually recognised most of the IBM ads for linux.

I wish I was cool (old) enough to remember linux adds, but sadly I was born into the microsoft and mac generation.

I started using computers with DOS/Windows 3.11, no idea what Linux was at the time. So no, not cool enough to remember those ads.

Yet my school made us learn how to use Acorn computers... I have no idea what was up with that.

Surprisingly, I don't remember them. This is the first time I've seen them. I wish I could see Linux ads on TV today, all I see is Microsoft and Mac ads nowadays.

That's because IBM kind of... got out of the race.

This (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZtdnZNYN0MM) is a good ad from Red Hat.

I started on a TI-99/4 (not the a model).

I really got in to using the Apple II as well.

The first Mac was my primary computer in college.

I remember the Linux ads.

I started off on a MS-DOS PC then moved up to a window 95, didn't think much about the frequency I needed to re-install it, to be fair though most incidents were from me experimenting, I just was interested in what could be done. Went from 95 to 98, more stable, even if it did lack user login secuirty. I then jumped to XP for a while, then to various Linux Distros then to Ubuntu itself, played with Vista for a bit, moved back to Ubuntu, now currently playing with Window's 7.
Don't remember any Linux ads though.
