I try install wubi from softonic

from the web : http://wubi-installer.org/

The first time 15/07/2009

and now 19/09/2009

The version changed : 8.04 to 9.04

but the disastrous results continuous to be the same.
The installer gives the messages
downloading ubuntu - 9.04-desktop-amd64.iso

My system is windows xp pro + SP3, 32 bits

The first time took all night long to complete the installation that finally fails. And now seems to go the same way.

The first time I received some sort of advice to try with a CD. Is that the solution ?
The web says you don't need a CD. It's a shame.
Is this a good program ?
Is this from Ubuntu ?
I don't really think so.

I will try again in six months to a year.

Please. Tell the development team to repair all this ........

If you have a 32-bit computer, why are you using the 64-bit Ubuntu?

Try the i386 Ubuntu. You may have better luck with it.

I enter in that "wonderful" web. Select the only option. And download the 64bit option. It's not my fault.

You can see for your own if you have windows 32 bits......

So don't use Wubi installer to use Wubi.

Just use the regular Ubuntu CD:

Have you used ? Yes. In fact, I did those screenshots, so I know it works.

Because months ago I try with no results. Well, let's troubleshoot it, then.

And that link installer goes several month equal I don't know what you're saying. Can you rephrase please?

"I don't know what you're saying. Can you rephrase please?"

I try the same some months ago with the same result. I would like the development team repair (remake) the link.

There is another post in this same forum where other users complaints about wubi. It's not new .

Thanksxxx

I'm not the development team.

I'm trying to help you install Ubuntu using Wubi. That's why I gave you the link to instructions for how to do that with the Ubuntu CD and not the Wubi installer. My link works. I know, because I made the tutorial (and the screenshots).

If you think there is something wrong with the Wubi installer (it fetching 64-bit Ubuntu on a 32-bit Windows installation), then you should file a bug report on it, so the developers can fix it:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/wubi

I repeat: I am not a developer or programmer. I am not in any way involved in the Wubi project. I'm just trying to help you get Ubuntu installed.
