Hi,

I just installed Ubuntu on a HP dv6, after fixing minor issues with the wireless card I click on "Hard Drivers" to install the ATI grahpics drivers.

After I installed the drivers and restarting the machine Ubuntu would no longer display the log in screen correctly, the screen is black with the Ubuntu logo in window displayed at the top tiled across the screen.

I can no longer log in Ubuntu now, so I don't know how I can fix it. Can anyone advise?

Below is the a screen shot of what I'm getting

Update: I just watched the boot list and it says "Loading BIOS auto installation service for kernel 2.6.28-11-generic "not sure on what the last word says" [FAILED]", I'm guessing this a serious problem and nothing to do with the graphics card but the kernel.
