Can anyone give me detailed instructions on how to use this theme?

I'm a bit new to these types of things.

Thanks!

That one's made up of several different elements; to begin with you'll need compiz-fusion and Emerald, if you don't already have them installed. Compiz-fusion is installed by default in Ubuntu. To activate it, if you haven't already, go to menus System, Preferences, Appearance, Visual Effects, choose either normal or extra.

I suppose you read this: "
To have a Cube model theme:
-You must have the Cube3DModel plugin for compiz.
-Open a terminal and :
[ wget http://www.ubukey.fr/custom/cubeinstall.sh
chmod +x cubeinstall.sh
./cubeinstall.sh ]
--->to have Cubethemer (in french, this is a french log!)

-Launch Cubethemer with menu

Hey All !!

Thus far i'm loving Ubuntu and linux....no more windows, whoo hoo....okay. but

i'm kinda figuring out how to install themes, although, i will drag the themes package into the appearance window...it'll say "theme installed correctly" but when i select the theme it looks nothing like how it should be looking....look at this for example..http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show.php/Raptor+(Slickness+remix)?content=86048 (http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show.php/Raptor+%28Slickness+remix%29?content=86048)

I downloaded the theme. installed it...but it looks nothing like it....the appearance manager even says, this theme will not look like how it should...so if it can determine how it should look, why doesn;t it make it look like how it should...haha.

So can anyone tell me how to install a fancy theme as above....

oh by the way...after installation, it also doesn't show that fancy "MAC" bar...how?

HELP !!

Thanks.

This is just a copy & paste from translate.google.com from the readme file in the archive.

1 - Emerald:
Open the folder Emerald. On the inside is a folder named "UbuntuSavana. Place this file in the directory / home / [yourusername] / .emerald / themes.
Then open the configuration manager and select the Emerald theme "UbuntuSavana.

2 - walltime:
Open the folder walltime. On the inside is a folder named "Savana". Place this file in the directory / usr / share / backgrounds. At the moment did not change the background of your desktop, this will happen only in point No. 4.

3 - Icon:
Make Menu ---> system ---> preferences ---> appearance to open the Appearance Manager.
Make a Drag & Drop (drag) from the archive "Meliae-Dust.tar.gz" your window to the preference of appearance.

4 - Gtk Theme:
Make Menu ---> system ---> preferences ---> appearance to open the Appearance Manager.
Make a Drag & Drop (drag) from the archive "gtk-UbuntuSavana.tar.gz" your window to the preference of appearance.
Following message -> "the theme gnome has been successfully installed"
Select the theme Ubuntu Savana, everything should fall into place, and the screen icons and dynamic if you have placed.

5 - Theme Savana Cubemodel:
Open Cubethemer and download the theme Savana. Activate. That's all.

6 - Usplash:
WARNING, it only works for Intrepid Ibex!
Double-click the archive savanna-intrepid.deb, installation is automatic.

7 - Gdm Theme:
Open menu ---> System ---> Administration ---> Login Window
Enter your password.
Tab "Add" ----> point to the archive GdmUbuntu Savana.tar.gz. The installation is automatic. Check the appropriate button to activate it.

Thanks to all Forum members for their advice, particularly Ljere for her pretty Uspash. : D

The translation was actually pretty good, IMO.
