I am the owner of this exact model of laptop.
http://www.linuxshoppen.dk/products.php?showvariant_id=6787
it is a x-one. and its reconfigured and I am sorry the page is only displayed in Danish but I cant find anywhere anything on google and when i tried just about all that comes up are my own threads about it.
I want to replace ubuntu and crunch bang on it but I found it to be difficult. belenix runs fine but misses the sounddriver and I cant fix it.
bsd wont even boot. 7.2 I tried but it halts in the middle of starting up.
same does opensolaris.
debian lenny wont find netcard and later in the process it start flickering on the screen.
same all other minimal install cd that uses the debian installer.
scientific linux has the same problem with missing soun driver and I do not like rmp based distros at all I suddenly remembered when I had scientific installed on it.
I am unhappy only being able to run ubuntu or crunch bang the laptop but it is very very important that the alternative is easy to install and it is stable as i will be unsing it most when i go to the hospital. in other words linux from scratch while in the hospital with kidney failure and needing to watch a movie or writing a important email is no good idea.
anyone have suggestions. I would actually love to run bsd on it but :(
thanks.
