View Full Version : [ubuntu] couldn't find plugin for audio on firefox3.5.3

ubuntu 9.04
i try to install firefox3.5.3 but when i open at web youtube for play video it's not have sound. and has box error to show > Search for suitable plugin?
>no packages with the requested plugin found.
>the requested plugins are mpeg-4 AAC decoder

i want to know what is plugin i must to install ?
i attach file of my plugin that i installed . or i can edit at Preference ? please guide to me.

I think that you are having this problem because you use Gnash plugin to handle flash.
there are other plugins that work much better.

to point you to the appropriate howto I would need to know if you installed 32 or 64 bit ubuntu

:) ok. now i can play video on web with sound . after i remove mozilla-plugin-gnash from Synaptic package
manager .

My machine is 64 bit, so I can point you to a tutorial for 64bit flash

I like the idea behind Gnash and would love to use as default flash player for myself but its still buggy and needs quite some work. Once it gets better I would not mind using it over Adobe Flash Player. Last time I used it I had fullscreen problems and button placement etc on youtube was all kinds of messed up lol.
