I love gOS and have a few friends who use it as their default distro. I wrote a review about gOS here (http://ardchoille42.blogspot.com/2009/09/gos-cloud-distro.html).

that's a really nice write up. this piece though:

Since its debut in 2007, gOS has been praised for being the most beautiful and easiest to use Linux operating system on the market

should have some hyperlinked references in it. other than that, nice work.

That is a nice review. I tried gOS a while back but gave it away after trying their forum. There was something wrong because it was full of spam & crap. I had the impression that this was. not an ongoing project.

I went back to check the forum and appears to be up and running.

It is an appealing OS but perhaps not cutting edge.

GOS is the first OS based off Ubuntu that emphasized "cloud computing." Jolicloud is another distro in the same category.

I thought gOS was a fork of ubuntu made/branded by google as their first attempt for cloud computing. If not, then whats does the g stand for?

Don't laugh, it stands for "good". Really. It's worth a look although it's based on hardy.

This is the only one I've found; http://gosforums.org/. I posted a message there a week ago about openoffice and have yet to hear from anyone. I'd be more interested in it if there was a version based on 9.04 or had updated apps.
