I am having trouble burning a dvd that will play on a dvd player. I can burn a data dvd that works on computers, but i cant get the right format for regular dvds. I have tried brasero, k3b, devede. Any ideas out there

You know that a Video-DVD must have a directory structure with AUDIO_TS (empty) and VIDEO_TS with the VOB-files etc in it?

Try devede - it's in the repo's
sudo apt-get install devedeIt has an option for burning discs that will play in any dvd player - and it works, I've converted many raw video files from the dvcamera to watch on my dvd player. It will encode to either PAL or NTSC which ever one you need for your Country of residence.
