Hi,

I have recently brough the following components for my PC:

1 x ATI HD4850 PCI-E 2.0 1GB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI-E Graphic Card

1 x AMD Phenom II X2 550 7MB Cache AM3 Black Edition With Fan 3.1GHZ

1 x Gigabyte GA-MA770T-UD3P ATX DDR3 AM3 Motherboard

2 x 1 gig dim DDR3 ram

and have kept my 7200rpm HDD and standard DVD RW drive:

My current case has a 350Watt PSU, im not sure if this will be enough to power these new components, anyone here able to shed some light on how I would find out if this is enough or recommend the wattage needed to power these.

Your power supply should be OK, although it doesn't have much spare capacity. I've got the same motherboard and CPU, but I went with 4 GB of memory, which is complete overkill this year -- but it pushed me into the 64-bit version of Ubuntu, which I wanted to try. (And I'm happy with it.)

I also went with a cheap nVidia-based video card, and I'm happy with that decision.

If your HDD and DVD are both IDE, they will have to be on the same cable, which can be a PITA depending on the case layout.

Good luck!
