I have kubuntu 9.04 with Xfce4 and Gnome window managers installed.
In an Xfce session my Gnome wallpaper is on top of the Xfce (different) wallpaper.
I know this because I can see the Xfce layer during screen redraws. I am running Compiz also, but have turned it on and off to eliminate that option.
Conky is transparent on my xfce desktop and I can even see it when I rotate my cube.
I am pretty sure (90%) that my toolbars are Xfce.
Is there a (gnome) process I can safely kill to keep Xfce in control of my desktop?
