would someone mind helping me figure out how to set-up a new forum (wholly unrelated to ubuntu, linux, or any other such thing) using software most similar to that employed here?

I'd like it to be hosted ... cheap.

got some folks ... we do the same sorta stuff almost on a weekly basis ... be nice to have better communication

anyhow, I figure'd I'd set-up somethin' 'n see how it goes

could git to where I'd like to be able to put up a couple banner ads ... jest to cover the cost of hosting

I'm a computer guy ... but I have a job ... so I don't wanna spend much time figuring out how to install such a thing ... or maintaining it

basically, I'd just like to register a new domain and have it go to a hosted forum

I'd consider those shared deals with the built-in advertisements, if they use an editor as nice as this one!

I'm hoping the guys who set this up might have some short answers for me ... like just a link or two ... or maybe someone else 'round here's done something similar

many thanks!

Check out here (http://www.theadminzone.com).

Also look at the two forum softwares MyBB and SMF. For hosting, there are some free servers around, there are also some that come in around $5 a month.
