View Full Version : [ubuntu] Computer faster when running on batt; how to troubleshoot

September 16th, 2009, 10:45 AM
I'm running Jaunty, fully updated, on a Dell Precision M65, and I'm having a weird issue with usability while running on AC power, of all things. When I'm ripping CD's or using Google Reader on AC power, performance seems to lag, but as soon as I pull the AC, it speeds up, in the case of CD ripping by almost 2x. I have the Gnome CPU Frequency Monitors installed, and I'm pretty sure laptop mode is enabled. How can I go about troubleshooting this?
