View Full Version : [ubuntu] I install ubuntu and my partition d was erased!!!

Hello! i am new in ubuntu! i am from argentina! my question is this and i will be very thank full if you can help me.

I haved two partitiones, the first c where i haved vista and the d where i haved my data.

I put all the disk for mistake and now i dont have my data :(, can anynone tell me how can i recover the partition d where i haved my data, thanks!

That is going to be a tough one. You needed to be carefull during install and partitioning to avoid exactly that.

If you dont touch the PC anymore you may be able to recover some data using Trinity Rescue Disk (http://trinityhome.org/Home/index.php?wpid=1&front_id=12), tried it once to save some data, but you need to be carefull doing that cause one mistake and data is gone for ever.

yup, you are going to need another PC to download Trinity iso and burn to a CD, then put in your Laptop and boot from it, keep the other PC handy so you can read instructions, then cross fingers you dont screw up ;)
