View Full Version : [ubuntu] dual booting xp/jaunty problems

Hi all, Dual booting xp sp2 / Jaunty .
all is well with ubuntu (of course) but stupid xp has installed with no sound,no ethernet controller,no network controller, no multimedia controller. can't connect to internet. Using toshiba satellite A50 , belkin54g wireless router and billion modem. Any ideas?? Only need stupid Xp for itunes (to jailbreak ipod touch 2g):confused:

Surely you need hardware-drivers to have XP functioning. So I guess you need to use Ubuntu to find the correct drivers for your hardware.

You should be able to find drivers for your Toshiba laptop here:
http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/support/jsp/home.jsp#

Download the drivers via Ubuntu, open your XP partition from Ubuntu, and copy them to your XP partition. If you just copy them straight to the partition, You will be able to get the files from Drive C:\ when booting into XP!
