View Full Version : [ubuntu] need help installing graphics drivers

ok the how to said to go to ( system->hardware drivers) and enable the driver then go to the terminal and type in soem code . But when i go the the hardware drivers window it is empty

Oh. I have a X1300 and every other version of Ubuntu would have those drivers for you to install. Jaunty is using new, updated drivers for it though. I personally enjoy it; however, I believe that there is better and possibly newer ones out there. I've done just a little research to try and find out what's up there. So far, nothing I've found is sticking out above the rest. What how-to are you following?

i have the drivers from ati dl'edsince there were none under the hardware drivers menu but i have no idea how to install them this is the first time i have used a linux OS.

Try downloading and installing EnvyNG -- it does the detail work for you. See the link below, scroll to the Supported operating systems area and click the Get EnvyNG button:
