How to upgrade Kubuntu to 9.10?

In ubuntu, the command is "update-manager -d", what is the command in kubuntu?

Looks like you have to install update manager...

I'm a somewhat simalar except that I'm way back on 6.06 & I want to upgrade to 9.10. I know most likely I'll have to do multiple upgrades to do this.
