I am surprised that this time Tom's hardware recommended Linux. I remember that last year it produced an article about going for Vista as 8GB RAM was dirt cheap. And a few years ago it said something like "if your computer cannot upgrade to 1GB RAM than it must be a 'granny grade' and doesn't have much use in modern age". None of my computers have more than 1GB RAM but running *buntu is just fine! :)

It's funny how little of those programs I use on my computer. I use Firefox and Deluge, and I don't do any of the rest of that stuff...

pretty nice article(s)

even with 8GB ram i would prefer to use linux and it's a pretty addicting OS, specially since most things work today.

i really like how he says:

"for those who believe that there isn't as much software available for Linux as there is for Windows, let me enlighten you. There is a ridiculous amount of software available for Linux. In fact, this piece began as an article and quickly turned into a multi-part series."

Good article.

It's nice to see Tom's putting the energy in for Linux.
