Try to install Ubuntu 9.10 Alpha5 (There was same problem in Alpha 4) start LiveCD and everything start normally but start process freeze Ctrl+Alt+F2,3... nothing work, blank screen, no keyboard no mouse NOTHING. Try it in Safe Graphical mode, same result.
I thing this error is from my graphic card: Intel GMA X4500
My motherboard is ASRock G41M-LE, G41, S775...
Help please I want to try new Ubuntu!

Not sure if there is an alternate ISO image CD like there is for 9.04. My computer froze installing with the graphical ISO image, but installed like a champ with the alternatate ISO =)

Edit: Yes there is an alternative CD. http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/karmic/alpha-5/ It is towards the bottom =)

But if I install Ubuntu from Alternative CD and something wrong again, for instance My new Ubuntu can't start, my MBR is overwritten and I haven't other Linux(Arch; Mint) and MS_Vista, what I do in this case - Repairing MBR from Ubuntu 9.04 LiveCD is no problem, but why? I think that if Ubuntu can't start from LiveCD, install from Alternative CD can't start too. Am I wrong or right?

Oh.. I thought it froze during installation from the live cd and thats why suggested the alternative. But now it sounds like you were previewing ubuntu before installing it and it never booted from the cd correctly.. I dont know, someone else has to come along. =/

As I mention I have other Linux distro on my PC. I have a same problem in my Archlinux with new xf86-video-intel 2.8.1 drivers. Start X in VESA mode, with old drivers there was no problem. I think new drivers have same bug with Intel GMA X4500 and chip Intel G41??? But I'm not sure... I'm not a Linux guru, this is only suggestion!
Is there anybody can help me?
