Does 'dd' belong on wikipedia's "List of Backup Software"?

do you think dd or ddrescue be included in wikipedia's List of Backup Software (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_backup_software)?

i know that imaging and backing up are not the same, but the process of imaging is backing up... one of those "all squares are rectangles, but not all rectangles are squares" type things.

at a glance, it seems an open-and-shut case with a clear answer of "yes, it should and I should go ahead and add it"....

...but i have been known to overlook monumentally simple things before, so i wanted to double check with our happy little community before adding it to the table :D

The dd command is one of those things that inspired this little quip:

"To err is human; to really screw things up requires a computer."

That is to say, if you know how to use it, good. Because if you don't know what you're doing, you're bound to destroy something.

We have a multibay computer that runs a script to clone hard-drives. The only magic of it is the dd command. So, yes, I do believe dd can be considered a backup tool.
