I tried to upgrade from ubuntu 8.04 LTS to 8.10 yesterday and it didn't work so the upgrade program restored 8.04 after it did so i found i had to restore many of the options which was annoying. but what has completely done my head in is that when i try to open the document / music / video / pictures folders from places instead of seeing what's in the folder i get music player pop up with a play list!!!
I managed to get to them via >places>computer and back them up onto an external hard drive.
has ubuntu gone mad? is there a way of repairing this? if not, how do i reload the ubuntu disk and start from scratch?
