Hi everyone,

I downloaded 9.04 as soon as it was released. Of course as I install it on new machines months later, I need to update more and more post install.

How often are the ISOs updated? Is it worth downloading 9.04 again? I started downloading it again as a torrent, but the torrent was created on the 23/04/2009. So no point yeah? Unless there is something about torrrents I don't know.. like the sources are updated but the torrent file itself isn't?

Input and thoughts appreciated,

Andrew

I believe they still have the same one. It is up to almost 250 updates at install. If you are doing frequent installs you should use APTonCD so you can have an ISO with updates on it to save a lot of time.

Another thought...

If I installed Ubuntu on a USB stick... can I update from within there when I run it. And then later when installing it on a machine, will it install the updated packages?

I am not sure. I have never used thumb drives to install.
