Has anyone had a working success in installing Ubuntu on this netbook?
I received one for a birthday present, and it has Vista Basic installed:( and would prefer Ubuntu on it, but would like to know if there are any aches and pains ahead of time so I know what to look for when installing!

No one? I found a few fragments on line at other sites that might help me, so I will give it a go on my own then.

FYI:
I did install Ubuntu 9.04 on my Acer One ZA3 netbook with no serious problems, the only minor issue was with the screen resolution, which I fixed with ease following the instructions here:
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/AspireOne
Wifi worked out of the box, however streaming video is choppy, which is not to big of a deal, at least for me since I am going to use the netbook more for work then watching videos.
However if anyone knows of a fix for the choppy video, I would be appreciative.
Thank You.

The Aspire One has Intel graphics. Jaunty will still run.
Your best bet is to boot her up and see what works and what doesn't.
