know there are alot of people out there who are into photography. Post up one or two of your favorite photos.

Ground Rules:
1) It has to be your photo. I don't want this to turn into a thread full of stuff from all over the Internet.

2) Minimal photo editing, keep it to the basics like color adjustment etc.

3) HDR is fine.

4) Max resolution 800x600 or use thumbnails.

5) If you can, host it somewhere else instead of attaching it, lets be nice to the server.

I'll get us started:

My sister's cat. Nikon Coolpix 4500

Probably still one of my favorites even though it was one of my early ones.

This one was taken on the operating base where I was stationed in Iraq, on a "quiet" evening in November of last year. For quite some time I used it as a desktop theme on my personal laptop, as well as the laptop in the office I worked in while I was there. It was my reminder that, no matter where you are, there's always something to bring you "back to the basics."

The sheep was noticed in Titahi Bay (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Titahi_Bay), circa 1984
The night shot is looking along the north-eastern motorway towards Auckland (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Auckland), circa 1982, long before Ubuntu or the SkyTower was built

(Edit: Yes, that's the harbour bridge in the background)

During a trip to Tokyo (April 2004). Yes, I had a somewhat crappy camera then (not like I have a better one now, though :p).

Thank you! And I agree, I think people approach HDR with a "instant-look-good-button" attitude and don't have much idea on why you want to apply HDR to "fix" a camera's inability to capture what your eyes can see.

This one is a favorite of mine. Taken at Foothill Regional Park in Windsor, CA.

I spotted this sign at our local mall yesterday, snapped with my phone:

Due to bad weather this door is closed. Please use the door on the other side.
Trouble is, the door directly opposite had an identical sign!

Thankfully this entrance had doors on three sides, of which one door was usable.
