installing ubuntu on an external hard drive for xbox 360

i have both an xbox 360 and a 70 gb hard drive and i want a new fast computer is there any way i can do this and make it work at the moment i think i need a boot loader and possably more drivers for the kernal to get it to work on it
also can i do it without editing the actual xbox software as i might need the console as a game console sometime
