I'm running Ubuntu Ultimate Edition 2.0 and it came with a lot of KDE programs. Is there a way to have everything open in Gnome? A few programs like Open Office and Firefox have Gnome support; does it mean that the other programs also need their own Gnome support? Is there a way to uninstall KDE and is this desirable? Would a lot of programs stop working if I do that?

You can open KDE-apps in gnome without problems as long as you leave the KDE-libs installed. If you remove those, all dependent apps will automatically be removed by the package-system.

They just might look 'KDEish' and the order of OK/Cancel buttons is different, so don't let that confuse you.
