hi, when i boot from the ubuntu 9.04 cd it gives me choices when i select on any one error message appears cant read from boot cd , i burn the cd again at low speed same problem

Have you checked the downloaded iso for errors?

yes i did md5 hash check it was the same as provided by the ubuntu site

Try it in a couple of other PC's. Your optical drive may be worn out. If CD works in another machine then you'll have some indication.

Did you use a CD-R, not a CD-RW?

i have tried it on my dell inspiron 6400 when it select install or any other choice no thing happens the cd driver blinks few seconds but nothing happens even the i/o error doesn't appear the only choice is to boot from the hard disk to windows

Can your computer boot from a usb device? If it can, you might want to consideer installing from a flash memory stick. Use Unetbooting to put the iso there. More on this here https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Installation/FromUSBStick.
