Installed Advanced Desktop Effects Settings (ccsm) using the Add/Remove program.
Once installed, changes to the settings within the compizconfig settings manager have no effect.
Find system information below...

Hi and have you enable the effects under system, preference. appearance, then the visual effects tab.
Edit to slow :)

Hey thanks for the quick replies

I have visual effects set to extra.

I'm not sure what you mean by edit to slow? I only see none, normal, or extra.

Okay when you open an application like your browser and right click to top of the window holding down the button and move it around it doesn't wobble? This is usually on by default.

Okay it's on. So what are you trying to set.

Well, anything, primarily the desktop cube. I've checked the box under system>preference>compiz config>desktop cube

And the cube doesn't happen

Hi and you will have to check the rotate cube also. You may look at the link in my signature also about the FAQ's :)

All good. Apparently, I had to add 4 windows for the faces of the cube.

Thanks for your help.

May I suggest using the CCSM GUI for the editing of the settings? System -> Preferences -> Advanced Desktop Settings Manager/CompizConfig Settings Manager. Gives tips on things better than gconf.
