View Full Version : [ubuntu] 9.04 not seeing wireless - Dell D610

Hi - I just made a persistent Jaunty thumb drive, using instructions from PendriveLinux.com, and it works well.

The laptop is an employer unit, and they're quite restrictive about what we can or can't install, so a pendrive will be handy.

The built-in Dell wireless works great in ******* at every site I've tried so far, so the hardware is working.

If I run Jaunty from either the thumb drive or the live CD it doesn't see any available networks.

Any idea where I should start?
Thanks,

Hoosemon

Hi,

Go to this menu:

"System" -> "Administration" -> "Hardware Drivers".
You should see a driver available for your Wireless Card.
Select it and click "Activate".
Your Wireless Card should work!:)
