I already use a couple online storage services, but I was wondering why not to setup my own. Is there any open source software that I could use?

there's software out there for NAS (network attached storage)
Openfiler is a linux distrobution http://distrowatch.com/openfiler

There is also FreeNAS which is a BSD http://distrowatch.com/freenas

this might not be right what your looking for but I think its a start

I hope this helps

I did a some googling and AhsayOBS might be what your looking for however if you don't need to back ups while your away from home I would stick with NAS

You may be interested in setting up a WebDav server, if you want to have a file share via the web and accessed by Windows/Mac/and MSwindows machines.

I have had a couple issues setting up mine. I need to document the issues and create a new how to.

The following should get you started.
