First i would like to say that before opening up this thread i already did a search , so if someone already had this idea before is not my fault i didn't find it  .
Sometime ago i started thinking , when i install Ubuntu i automatically change a lot of default configs , for example i put cd´s and other media to only mount when inserted , create some launchers at the gnome-panel , etc... but what would happen if i was a sysdmin who had to install Ubuntu in over 100+ machines ? how much time it would take to config them all?
What if Ubuntu installer allowed me to make a installation by codes , i could choose to introduce the install (and after install) configs myself , of for example in hardware configs i could put the code 0021 which would mean only mount cd´s , but automatically mount and read pens usb , etc.... and if i didn know what codes to insert , i could have a small application that would analyze my configs and tell me the equivalent code so i could easily introduce it in other machines.
This could also be valid to panels look a like , apt-get configs , etc... , and be a huge bonus for Gnu/Linux in general.
I don't know if there is already distros with a similar system ( i think not) , but i would like to know what you think about the idea.
