View Full Version : Wireless on Asus EeePC 1008HA

I've installed Ubuntu 9.4 NBR on my Asus EeePC 1008HA (I know my model not supported but it was that or being stuck with XP) without much difficulty. Everything seems to be working fine except for the internet connection. It's supposed to be turned on but Ubuntu does not detect any wireless network and nothing happens when I connect the netbook to an internet cable.

Do you know how I can fix this?

Thanks,
- Calixte

PS: I'm mostly a "point and click" person, but I can try the command line if it's not too complicated.

alternatively, you can download those packages from http://packages.ubuntu.com/jaunty/i386/linux-backports-modules-jaunty/download <--- there, and putting it on your netbook via thumb drive.

I'll try that.
Thanks!

Uh...
Unfortunately, manually downloading the packages rapidly spins me down dependency hell...
Is there no other way? :(

none that i am aware of... read the dependency list carefully so your stay in hell can be as brief as possible :\

very few NIC's out there that linux does not support - you where extremely unlucky.

OK, I'll do that when I have time.
Thanks a lot for your help!
