Ubuntu 9.04
Greetings.
I did something clever (not) and now need to reinstall Ubuntu. I already had a partition setup and Ubuntu had neatly installed in /dev/sda2 (with XP in /dev/sda1). Some items I do not recall from my previous install:
Will it automatically install the GRUB with the XP boot option? Or do I need to tell it something special to accomplish this?
I am being prompted on where to install the boot loader. I have picked /dev/sda2 from the menu, the partition where I had previously installed Ubuntu.
Once I have the GRUB menu, where is the menu/script file located? I want to edit it so that XP is at the top of the menu and, thus, the default upon booting.
Some doc I found (How to dual-boot XP and Ubuntu (http://apcmag.com/how_to_dual_boot_windows_xp_and_linux_xp_installed _first.htm?page=4)) tells me that the GRUB menu will be automatically installed. The article omits the [Advanced] option in step 6 of the install process that prompts me with the check-box for the boot loader and the location (mentioned in item 2)
I am sitting here with my PC booted from the live CD, at step 7 of the install. All I need to do is click on [Install] button. But I am soooo http://t0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:8AvgaZX1USTVsM:http://www.cksinfo.com/clipart/animals/birds/chickens/ChickenCartoon4.jpg
Advice please?
Thanks much.
