Hi, I am running ubuntu 9.04 64 bit.
I have some files on my network drive which were created using a windows machine. Files are word and pdf, their names are in russian and contents is in russian too.
The name of files is displayed with question marks (????,pdf), and files won't open at all.

Is there a way to fix this?

Thanks :)

PS, I tried renaming a file from russian to english. It opened fine in ubuntu. Hm :)

Did you install Russian Language Support?

System menu ------> Administration ---> Language Support

Yes, I have it installed.
There should be a way to tell ubuntu to use Russian encoding, when data is not in utf. That's how you solve it in windows. But I don't see such an option in ubuntu... :(
