We have a network with Ubuntu Hardy 8.04. Installations, everything seems to be working fine, and then out of nowhere the following problem below occurs randomly, leaving the machine useless. It's happened on various parts of the network all randomly on random machines. We can't seem to know what the problem is, anyone got ideas? This is the error message on the machines tha appears:

init: Unable to execute "/bin/sh" for rcS: No such file or directory
init: rcS main process (2536) terminated with status 225
init: Unable to execute "/bin/sh" for rc-defualt: No such file or directory
init: rc-default main process (2537) terminated with status 255
