After upgrading to 9.04 Jaunty I can't record sound, neither from mike nor line.
I've tried Sound Recorder, Audacity and Skype. All only record noise (low volume; possible only electronic noise). I've tried all available settings for input.
I have a Dell Vostro 400 with an ATI built-in sound card and I don't know model or more exact data.
I hope someone can help me find those.
I can do my recordings with an 8.04 system that I use for backup, but I should like to know if there's anything I can do or install so I won't have to switch system to do this job.
I just re-installed the system for the N'th time, hoping that starting with a clean system might help. It did not.
