Hi there,
So, I have 24Gb of RAM. I don't use that, even when I play with 4 or more VM's. So, I heard of ramdisk (actually, I saw it as an option when I was compiling my kernel), and I was trying to find some guide on the net on how to setup a ramdisk and make grub load all the system residing on my HDD to it, then proceed with the boot process. If successful, everytime I power-up my machine, it will pause for some moments, copying my whole system from the HDD to the ramdisk and, when it's done, start the real boot from the ramdisk, which I guess will be pretty fast. Then I would setup cron to check every couple minutes to see if anything changed and copy the changes to the HDD, thus making the changes permanent.
Is that possible? If so, how can I do it?
Thanks in advance.
